Kortney and I both wanted to do something creative makeup/face paint wise for our costume this year. I decided on a unicorn (with lots of glitter of course) and she decided on a Dia de los Muertos skeleton. I think a lot of the costume fun is getting ready. I had so much fun creating a pink to purple ombre around my face and challenged me as a makeup artist. my unicorn horn didn't arrive in the mail on time, so I improvised with some lavender paper and a headband. Kortney had some not-so-great face paint but that just made her get creative to figure out how to apply it. Overall we had a fun, simple halloween and I'm already looking forward to creating next years costume!
Unicorn kit: glitter (and lots of it), unicorn horn, hair ties, hairspray, colorful eyeshadow (I used the Morphe 35B), an unwavering belief in magic.
Dia de los Muertos skeleton: face paint in various colors, sponge and/or brush to apply, fake flowers, hot glue gun, hair clips, willingness to act dead.
